PERSONALITY For the most part, Tesla can be very agreeable. She's usually a very mellow person and good at going with the flow. Despite being in law enforcement, she is not generally a confrontational person. She prefers to live life as a free spirit, and can on occasion be a bit of a risk taker. She can be flirty, feel free to take that as "just Tess" if you wanna keep things friendly, but also, feel free to take it further. She is highly intelligent and knows her limits, but she is also stubborn and will almost always choose the fight instinct over the flight. Because of her expansive memory, she tends to also be rather contemplative. She enjoys quietly observing others and is particularly fond of observing nature.

ABOUT Tesla Rose Spencer was born February 21st, 1986 to Henry Spencer, a homicide detective and his wife of 13 years, Myriam Chadad-Spencer, a psychologist. Myriam had moved to the United States from Tel Aviv to attend medical school at Stanford and had met her future husband after seeing him for a return to duty evaluation. Henry moved to California from Boston, MA when he was 17. He worked on the horse ranch that he ended up buying and raising his family on before he joined the police. Their elder son, Josh, was born in 1976 after two years trying to conceive. Tesla was a surprise, her parents had assumed with the difficulty they had had with having her brother, they wouldn't have more children. They never actively tried, and she was conceived during a last ditch weekend to try and save their crumbling marriage. Her birth saw a brief happier period between the two. When Tess was six, her mother filed for divorce and moved out of the family home very suddenly. There was some debate over who would take the children, Myriam wanted to return to Israel and bring them along. Henry however made legal moves to prevent this, hoping she would be forced to stay in the states to help care for them. He was stunned when she opted to go home anyhow, and she did so without much hesitation, leaving him to raise a teenager and a grade schooler alone. To keep her mind off of her mother's abandonment, Henry signed her up for dance lessons. This became her creative outlet, and she continued with her lessons beyond college. She contemplated at one point dancing professionally, but Henry discouraged any career in the arts. Thinking they wouldn't allow his kids to flourish in life. Tess graduated high school with honors and went on to study at Georgetown where she received her bachelors of arts in liberal studies (BALS). Around this time she met Jason Engle, a new recruit with the FBI. They dated briefly before eloping (much to her father's disappointment) before she finished her undergrad. After only a few years of marriage, they began to really see the effects of the stress of their careers. When she became pregnant during a last-ditch effort to save their marriage, they opted to give the baby up for adoption. Tess became friends with their son's adoptive parents and keeps in touch with them to this day. After their divorce, Tesla completed her juris doctor from Georgetown and applied to the FBI academy at Quantico as soon as she had finished her mandatory 2 years as a part of a police force. Now that she is heading into her late thirties, she is especially concerned with finding her place in the world. When she has time off, she visits her father Henry at the family ranch back in California. Her brother Josh is married with three daughters, including a set of twins. APPEARANCE Tesla is tall and slender. She clocks in at Five foot ten, and has been on the skinnier side of the body spectrum since childhood. A trained dancer from six years of age, she has also had a lot of muscle tone most of her life. This became especially true into her late teens and early twenties when she began to cross-train. Tesla's natural hair color is a dark brown, her eyes are a medium honey-brown and she doesn't usually add color to her hair, though she has had highlights now and again in life. She has never completely colored her hair or bleached it. Its' natural texture is extremely curly, and on the coarser side. She occasionally straightens it. It is almost always well past her shoulders in length. Tess had braces as a child and her teeth are in good condition. She is a very dedicated brusher and flosser. She hasn't experimented with cigarettes or other tobacco more than a puff or two as a teen to try to fit in, but she's a coffee addict so she does occasionally have her teeth whitened. She has several small tattoos, including her name in Hebrew on the back of her neck, often hidden by her hair, one on her ankle (dedication in script) and one on the back of her shoulder, a baby's footprint with her son's date of birth.
